You can make more complex searches by searching on multiple words or phrases. Use the following syntax:

+,AND
+ is used for setting that the word must appear in the article. This option is not necessary on the first word. The default search is AND. This means that all words are required in the article.

Usage: michael jordan baseball
This search will return results where all words appear.

-,NOT
- or NOT are used for selecting words that musn’t appear in the article.

Usage: michael +jordan -baseball
This search will return all articles where the word baseball is not included, but Michael and Jordan are.

%, NEAR
% is used for “near” searches. This means the words must be near each other in the article.

Usage: michael % jordan
This search will return all articles where michael and jordan are close to each other.

" "
This option is used for phrase searches.

Usage: "Michael Jordan quits"
This search will return all articles where these words appear exactly as written.

OR
OR is used for doing OR searches.

Usage: Wenatchee OR Malaga
This search will return all articles with the word Wenatchee or Malaga.

( )
This option is used for grouping searches.

Usage: vacation (disneyland or beach)
This search will return all articles where the words vacation and either disneyland or beach appear.

*
This option is used for searching using partial words.

Usage: The search for foo* will return articles with the words foot, football and other word starting with foo.
